Tough Tough Treadmill Workout

Today we re-visited the tough 20/20/20 treadmill set, except Joel bumped the speed up today.

Andrew and I met Joel at commonwealth then got down to business.

treadmill at 2%
20' @ 9.3 mph
20' @ 9.9 mph
20' @ 10.5 mph

10 miles in total of tough running. Last week when we ran this set, we ran at speeds of 8.7, 9.3, 9.9 (with the last 5' at 10.2)
I'm really happy with being able to hold on and finish the set, hopefully this bodes well for Honolulu next weekend.

An easy 60' spin on the trainer at night....I was hoping to watch the NASCAR race tonite, but it was rained out and instead will be run tomorrow....so tomorrow there will be great golf on TV, as well as NASCAR!

Dano, Nice Workout.. Always good to see definite improvement along the way too. Make it a great race in Honolulu! You may want to stay there...and will find your self day dreaming about it during the winter months. Enjoy your taper week. Greg

Thanks Greg...I'm looking forward to finally racing...

The race is nice and early in Honolulu (6am) so we've got the rest of Sunday and all day Monday to chill and see some stuff.

I really want to go and see the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor.

Kana,(your name in Hawaiian) I try to vacation there every year. I ran the Honolulu Marathon in 2000.

There is an interesting restaurant called the Shore Bird
http://www.outrigger.com/hotels_dining.aspx?hotel=2

Shore Bird Restaurant & Beach Bar
2169 Kalia Road
Waikiki, HI 96815
Oahu
Phone
(808) 922-2887

The restaurant is right on the beach on the North end of Waikiki and there are waterfront seats, no windows, just open air. You cook your own meat or fish...unique. There is a huge grill and they give you cooking info. The salad bar is kick ass too, all you can eat. An athlete's dream.

Check it out if you have time.

The Pearl Harbor memorial is definitely worth the trip. You watch a short movie then they take you out by boat to the site.
